Modern Silence - Casper & the Cookies

For the record (no pun intended), Modern Silence will not be released until May 12th. I picked it up when my band played a show with Casper & the Cookies in St. Louis. I put it in my car on the long drive home from the venue, and I was blown away. The album opener, "Little King", is a beautifully orchestrated pop tune with a walking bassline and jangling guitars. "You Love Me" features a great constant two part harmony, and Bill Doss from Olivia Tremor Control! I did a double take while listening, but it's totally him. Some other great ones include: "Sharp!", "Nagoya", "Keep Talking", and "Sunshine Girl". This album jumps around to fit just about every mood. It also includes lead vocals from each band member, and a number of guest musicians which makes this their most accomplished album yet. I am a huge fan of these guys, and I can see great things for them with the release of this great new record "Modern Silence"!

Who Am I? Who are you?

I am an 18 year old musician and music lover from St. Louis, Missouri. My name is Brandon Creath. I write songs and sing in the band The Impact (http://www.myspace.com/theimpact101). I am influenced by anything and everything that rocks and pops. Who are you? Feel free to post your own music on here, or whatever creative spirit that empowers you!

Welcome to the Roller Coaster!

Power pop, rock n' roll, film and whatever. I have been fueled to create this blog with the not so recent discovery of a beautiful powerpop collection known as 'Yellow Pills: Prefill' (http://www.amazon.com/Yellow-Pills-Prefill-Numero-004/dp/B0007XS0BQ). Artists included are: The Trend, Shoes, Randy Winburn, Luxury, and of course The Bats. I was sorry that I missed it on vinyl, and just got it in iTunes instead (they have both discs on there at least). If I get any requests, I would gladly post some of the songs on here. I have a few other Trend songs as well, which are very hard to find out there. First blog!
